Finding a missing or long-lost relative can be a difficult and emotional process. However, with the help of modern technology and resources, it is possible to locate individuals nationwide. In this article, we will discuss how databases and local in-person investigation can be used to help people find missing relatives.
One way to find a missing or long-lost relative is to use databases that contain personal information such as names, date of birth, and current address. These databases can be searched using the person’s name and other identifying information, making it easier to locate the individual. Many private investigation firms have access to these databases and can use them to help clients locate missing relatives.
Another way to find a missing or long-lost relative is through local in-person investigation. This can involve visiting the last known address of the person, interviewing family and friends, and searching for any other information that may help locate the individual. This method can be particularly effective in smaller communities where word-of-mouth can be a powerful tool in finding missing individuals.
It’s important to note that when we locate a missing person, we will inform our client that we have found them. However, we will not share any personal information without the subject’s consent. Before providing any information to the client, we will first contact the subject to make sure they are okay with being contacted by the client.
For example, a client hired us to locate his estranged sister who he hadn’t seen in 20 years, we were able to locate her by using our database and found that she had moved to a new state and changed her last name. Our client was overjoyed to know that his sister was alive and well and we were able to put them in touch after checking with her and getting her consent.
Another example, a client came to us with only a first name and a date of birth of his uncle who he hasn’t seen in 30 years, by utilizing our local investigation resources and interviewing old friends and family members we were able to provide a current address and phone number of his uncle and were able to verify he was alive and well before giving out the information to our client.
In conclusion, finding a missing or long-lost relative can be a challenging process, but with the help of databases and local in-person investigation, it is possible to locate individuals nationwide. It’s important for us as investigators to make sure we respect the privacy and autonomy of the individual and get their consent before sharing any information with clients.
